The 2023 Acura RDX impresses with a dynamic design, enthralling infotainment solutions and a suite of advanced smart-sense driving aids.
Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, Stability Assist, Traction Control, Snow Mode and an 8.2-inch ground clearance makes it a choice vehicle for winter driving.
Under the Hood
Powering the redesigned RDX is a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 272 hp and 280 Ib-ft of torque.
Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is optional. It uses torque vectoring by allocating specific power delivery to individual wheels. This development improves RDX performance in deep snow and steadies it when navigating slick corners.
Snow Mode reduces throttle sensitivity and allows the SUV to move in a higher gear without risking wheelspin.
Comfort and Convenience
Standard synthetic leather upholstery, resistant to spills and stains, is standard. The 12-way power adjustable front seats provide vantage-point comfort for drivers on long-distance travels.
Front occupants have 40 inches of headroom and 42 inches of legroom. Rear passengers have 38 inches of headroom and enough legroom to stretch out comfortably.
Cargo volume is 79.8 cubic feet with the 60/40-split seats folded down. A unique cargo underfloor and center console provide additional storage space for road trip essentials.
Base features include a voice recognition 10.2-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, a nine-speaker stereo, multiple USB ports, satellite radio and HD radio.
Safety
Traction Control helps the wheels grip the road better by preventing tires from spinning faster than the vehicle is traveling.
When the system detects the wheels are spinning excessively, it cuts down engine power and automatically applies the brakes.
The vehicle Stability Assist system decodes when a driver is not in control of the RDX by monitoring vehicular speed, throttle positioning, wheel turns and steering angles.
When an accident is imminent, the system sends power to the rear wheels or applies brakes to individual wheels. It also limits fuel flow to the engine to normalize the SUV and correct its trajectory.
AcuraWatch is a collection of standard innovative technologies for driving awareness and preventing accidents in winter weather.
