The 2023 Acura MDX matches rugged capability and high-class comfort with tech-focused driving aids in winter weather.
A double-wishbone front suspension with prominent wheels gives the MDX responsive handling in unpredictable driving conditions.
While an ultra-rigid chassis and longer wheelbase work in tandem for ride quality on wet or snowy roads. The mid-size SUV comes in five trim levels: MDX, Technology, A-Spec, Type S and Type S Advance.
Under the Hood
Equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine synced to a 10-speed transmission, the MDX generates 290 hp and 267 Ib-ft of torque.
Type S models deliver additional power for slick-shifting automatic transmission through a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that generates 355 hp and 354 Ib-ft of torque. A dynamic air suspension provides extra ground clearance for avoiding deep snow banks and protecting the undercarriage from road scrapes.
All-wheel drive models come with integrated dynamics systems. They feature a selection of six driving modes, including a snow mode that channels torque distribution to make snow driving easier.
Comfort and Convenience
Three-level seat heating is standard, with seat ventilation and automatic climate control added on A-Spec and Advance models. A hands-free power tailgate provides access to cargo space of 15 cubic feet behind the last row seating.
Maximum cargo space of 96 cubic feet offers sufficient space to travel with road trip essentials like a winter driving safety kit, blankets, extra outerwear, snowboards and skis.
A recessed cubby hole on the left side is perfectly sized to keep drinks warm. A hidden cargo storage area with a reversible lid is an excellent place to stash goods while traveling.
Acura's Precision Cockpit fuses a sporty design with next-gen touchpad interface. The display highlights driving data for drivers to monitor their vehicles and prevent common complications like flat tires or dead batteries that usually occur in cold temperatures.
