The Acura 2023 RDX delivers an energetic performance, luxury cabin size for five and robust list of safety high tech to handle the transition of summer to autumn.

Acura offers a single base trim and five fun-to-drive choices: Standard, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package and A-Spec Package.

All models come with three years of AcuraLink services including Security and Remote premium services.

The 2023 RDX also includes the Acura Maintenance bundle. This complimentary plan covers scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 24,000 miles. It includes oil changes, tire rotations and multi-point inspections.

Under the Hood

Powering the redesigned RDX is a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 272 hp and 280 Ib-ft of torque.

Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is optional and uses torque vectoring to allocate more power to individual wheels. Upgrades improves the handling of the RDX in slick on-road conditions caused by wet leaves or a shift of hot to cooler temperatures.

With multiple Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) driving modes – the 2023 RDX offers a dazzling range of driving experiences.  Sport Mode increases the vehicle's performance on autumn roads with a stiffened suspension and responsive steering.

According to EPA estimates, front-wheel drives use 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. While all-wheel drive models return 21/27 mpg  city/expressway.

Comfort and Convenience

Acura’s base model features include a voice recognition 10.2-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a nine-speaker stereo and several USB ports.

Heated power-folding side mirrors prevent condensation that impairs visibility in autumn. A panoramic roof creates an airy atmosphere on hot days and makes the interior feel more spacious by allowing more natural light into the cabin.

Front occupants have 40 inches of headroom and 42 inches of legroom. The 12-way power-adjustable seats are lumbar-friendly and offer vantage-point support for long-distance driving.

Available automatic LED lights which last longer than traditional headlights are an excellent choice in autumn when daylight hours are shorter.

Cargo volume is 79.8 cubic feet with the 60/40-split seats folded down. A unique cargo underfloor and center console bin provide additional solutions for essentials.

Safety

Driving in changing weather can be difficult for several reasons. It comes with reduced visibility, erratic road conditions and strong winds that are particularly dangerous in open areas.

AcuraWatch is a collection of innovative technologies for awareness and preventing accidents in unpredictable weather.

Features include:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System
  • Lane Keeping System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow Pedestrian Detection
  • Traffic Sign Detection

Stability Assist system decodes when a driver has lost control of the RDX by keeping a keen eye on steering movement, wheel turns, throttle response and vehicular speed.

Traction control is a safety feature that prevents the vehicle from skidding off the road in slick conditions. It improves on-road traction by limiting wheel spins when the vehicle is in motion.

In tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the 2023 Acura RDX got a perfect five stars for overall crash protection.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also gave the two-row SUV its top rating of "Good” in all crashworthiness assessments.
