Acura is rolling out a new version of its best-selling sedan, the TLX Type S. The redesigned sport sedan features impressive performance, tech wizardry and bold design.
This mid-size luxury sedan has a 355 horsepower and 354-Lb ft torque capacity—making it the fastest and most robust Type S vehicle ever produced. It is mated to a 3.0-liter 10-speed automatic transmission.
"Our designers and engineers took the gloves off, rethinking what an Acura sport sedan should be,” said Jon Ikeda, vice president of Acura America. "A more stylish, personal and performance-driven experience. This is unquestionably our most ambitious redesign of an Acura sedan."
Power is distributed through Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive System. The result: TLX delivers exceptional handling.
Inside, Acura Type S offers ventilated power seats with 12-way adjustability.
The 2021 TLX Type S is available in nine exterior colors, including Red Leather, Ebony, Graystone, Espresso and Parchment. The three interior options include the Orchid Leather and Tiger Eye Pearl.
The Type S model sedan has earned the highest safety rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
AcuraWatch, a suite of safety technology, includes several driver-assisted systems: forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, expanded pedestrian detection, driver-attention monitor and much more.
The Traffic Jam Assist allows the 2021 TLX to drive at speeds under 45 mph and keep the vehicle centered in its lane.
A blind-spot traffic alert is a safety system that warns of cars in your unsighted spots and cars approaching when in reverse. Acura’s multi-camera system provides an encircling view of the vehicle.
